What do we produce in

WAFRA FARMS

We know how important fruits and vegetables are. Even herbs are also an essential part of our cuisine. So, we bring the best of each one using different crop methods to get the best results without pesticides.

Tomatoes and potatoes

In the UAE, tomato product cultivation is expected to grow. There are current policies to support its cultivation and to adopt modern agriculture methods. The best practices include greenhouse cultivation and hydroponics. There is a wide variety of tomatoes, each one with different sizes and flavors. They need special water requirements which are met in our farms all year round without interruptions.

Potatoes are perhaps the second most common crop in our farms. The culture of buying chemical-free potatoes is slowly becoming popular in Dubai markets. People are starting to understand that healthier and chemical-free potatoes are better, and they are not expensive. Cultivating potatoes is easier than tomatoes in our environment but still requires taking care of the crops and supplying them with nutrients and water.

Lettuces and other vegetables

For eight months, the country's climate can be extremely hot and not appropriate to cultivate lettuce and other vegetables. That's why we have indoor farms and grow these vegetables without the heat and excessive sun exposure that would dry our plants.

Our lettuce growing systems use sustainable technology to produce more with less water, and we are prepared for water shortages that sometimes make a part of our reality. Lettuce is an important vegetable, along with cucumber and other products we grow on our farms. They have impressively high-water content and serve as an essential aid for weight loss.

Okra

This vegetable is ubiquitous in Africa and other subtropical and tropical countries. You may also know okra as Lady's finger, a famous ingredient for India's curry and cuisine soups. Okra is different from other vegetables in that we can cultivate the crops throughout the year without significant problems.

There are various types of okra in different parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. It grows in warm weather and requires some warmth to be cultivated. Thus, it is not hard to germinate and keep okra growing in our farms. However, what okra needs is soil rich in nutrients to improve its organic composition, a condition that is fully provided in Wafra farms.

Micro Herbs

If you can grow vegetables on a farm, you can definitely grow micro herbs, too. They are the seedlings of various vegetables, very young plants that sprouted and had their first leaves growing but are not yet producing big leaves or veggies. Micro greens are no more than 3 inches tall and take around ten days to develop.

The difference between micro herbs and sprouts is that sprouts germinate and are taken out of the crop before any leaves develop fully. In contrast, micro herbs have true micro leaves that measure no more than around 8 centimeters in length.

Green Hrebs

You may know green herbs by a variety of names. They are almost the same as aromatic herbs or spices. For example, there's basil, mint, parsley, dill, thyme, and oregano. Some of them are eaten fresh, and others are consumed as dried herbs. When you consume them as dried herbs, you call them spices.

In Wafra farms, we also have various fresh green herbs you can use in your dishes. For a complete list of what we have in stock, come to our site and look at our product list.
